In the main menu bar choose "Window" -> "Mail & Newsgroups".

The "New Account Setup" window pops up: Choose "E-mail account" and click "Next".

In the "Identity" window enter your username and e-mail address and click "Next".

In the "Server Information" window choose "IMAP" and click "Next" (see also: POP3 or IMAP?)

In the "Incoming Server" field enter

imap.3dresearch.com

and in the "Outgoing Server" field enter

vmail.3dresearch.com

and click "Next".

In the "User Names" window enter your username both in the "Incoming User Name" and "Outgoing User Name" fields. Your "Incoming User Name" and "Outgoing User Name" are the same.

Click "Next" and click "Finish" in the next window.

In the "Account Name" window enter a name which identifies your mail account (such as "My mailbox @ 3D RESEARCH"). This field is not used by your computer or by the mail server; it's only for the purpose of identifying your e-mail account.
