Many FTP client softwares support TLS connections. These include CoreFTP, CuteFTP, Fetch, and FileZilla.
CoreFTP:
Go to File -> Connect and the Site Manager window will appear. Enter the correct Host name (Host/IP/URL) and Username. You can also enter your password, or you can leave the Password field blank and CoreFTP will prompt you for your password at the time you log in. Make sure that the Port is set to 21.
Under SSL options check the checkboxes AUTH TLS, SSL Transfers and OpenSSL. DO NOT check SSL Listings.
When you log in for the first time the "Certificate Information" window appears. This window shows our server certificate information. Click the "Always Accept" button to store our server certificate in your CoreFTP software. After clicking this button, you can proceed to log in to your account.
CuteFTP:
Please see how to configure your FTP connection and how to accept our server certificate.
FileZilla
Go to File -> Site Manager and the Site Manager window appears. Click the "New Site" button, then enter the correct Host name (Host) and enter 21 in the Port field. From the Servertype menu, select "FTPES - FTP over explicit TLS/SSL", then click Connect.
At this time the window "Unknown certificate" appears. Check the checkbox "Always trust certificate in future sessions" then click OK to log in.
